We talked with Bill to learn more about his perspective on the Tactical Athlete. Here is what he had to say:

(TA-LB): The themes of the Tactical Athlete Leadership Board are Readiness, Resilience, and Recovery. From your perspective, why are these themes important, and what about them resonates with your experience in the human performance industry?

(Bill): The military deserves the best to serve our country well, and it is our duty to ensure the themes presented are executed to the best of our ability with the latest research and technology.

(TA-LB): Looking to the future, what technological innovation do you think will have the most significant impact on tactical athletes?

(Bill): Wearables. The more we learn about what the military needs to function at its best, the more we can better suit and lead engineers to make this happen.

(TA-LB): The spirit of the TALB is to bring a diverse set of perspectives to the table aligned toward a singular purpose: to sustain the tactical athlete of today and prepare for the tactical athlete of tomorrow. Why is it essential for the broader human performance industry to work together towards this end?

(Bill): The broader human performance industry needs to work together towards this end because we all have different experiences, which can bring a unique perspective and benefit the tactical athlete.

(TA-LB): What is the greatest challenge to innovation in the human performance sector?

(Bill): The greatest challenge is culture change. We must learn how to embrace innovation and understand its benefits for the tactical athlete of today and tomorrow.
